Alfredo Sauce

I love a good sauce.  Alfredo sauce combines some of my absolute favorite things: butter, heavy cream, and cheese.   It's one of the most decadent sauces you can eat, so I try not to indulge too often.... but when I do, it's magical.  So, it's kind of funny that making Alfredo sauce is so simple and hardly takes any time at all.
The way that I make my Alfredo Sauce only requires 5 ingredients: butter, flour, milk, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese.
It's one of those quick and easy recipes that I love.  I start by making a Roux (cooking butter and flour together,)  Once my butter and flour has just begun to brown, I'll add my milk and heavy cream to the pot.  After the mixture starts to bubble, I'll then add the Parmesan and stir until it's all melted.
That's it. It's so easy!  Of course this sauce is yummy over pasta, but I like to use this on pizza and in place of a creamy soup for green bean casserole too.
I love being able to have delicious homemade Alfredo Sauce in less than 5 minutes. Alfredo Sauce (makes about 1 pint) 4 tbsp butter 1 tbsp flour 1 cup milk 1/2 heavy cream 3/4 cups Parmesan cheese 1.  Melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the four. 2.  Pour in the milk and heavy cream and continue to stir until well incorporated. 3.  Add The Parmesan cheese and cook until the cheese is completely melted. 4.  Use in your favorite dish!
